‘Cognitive Therapy: Basics and Beyond’  by Judith Beck A book about the process of cognitive therapy, slightly academic, but with good examples of therapy dialogue.


‘Mind Over Mood: Change How you Feel by Changing the Way you Think’ by Dennis Greenberger, Ph.D. & Christine Padesky, Ph.D. A workbook that gets better the more you keep with it.


The Feeling Good Handbook’ by David Burns A very popular book written for the client, while it is a dense book, it is thorough.


‘Cognitive Therapy of Depression’ by Aaron Beck, Brian Shaw & Gary Emery This is a classic book written by the founder of Cognitive therapy. The style is more academic.


‘The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression’ by Andrew Solomon A description from the patient’s perspective about the experience of being a depressed person.


Anxiety: ‘Mastery of Your Anxiety and Panic: Workbook: Treatments That Work’ by David Barlow A step by step workbook to treat your anxiety and Panic.


‘Stop Obsessing!: How to Overcome Your Obsessions and Compulsions’ by Edna Foa & Reid Wilson


‘Don’t Panic Third Edition: Taking Control of Anxiety Attacks’ by Reid Wilson

‘Getting the Love You Want: A Guide for Couples’ by Harville Hendrix, Ph.D. The book for ‘Imago’ style therapy. Dr. Hendrix helps us understand our patterns of relating as pertaining to our early life experiences and how to change our unconscious patterns.


‘How to Improve Your Marriage Without Talking About It’ by Patricia Love and Steve Stosny Don’t let the title scare you, very good book on how to rebuild connections and what leads to disconnect.


‘The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work: A Practical Guide from the Country’s Foremost Relationship Expert’ by John Gottman Ph.D. A classic book on the signs of failing marriages and how to predict which couples are at risk. Dr. Gottman has specific suggestions for how to save your marriage and prevent divorce.
