Dr. Strachowski wants to understand how your issues affect all areas of your life. Ask yourself this: How do your psychological troubles impact you? How does your sleep problem affect your ability to work?  Does your depression affect other people in your family or your romantic relationships? It’s not about treating your condition, but rather about treating you, the whole person. What isn’t working for you and what do you want to change? What are your goals for therapy and how will you know you are getting better?

No two clients are alike, and CBT is not a one size fits all. Dr. Strachowski will seek to understand your history and how you became the person you are today. What series of events in your childhood lead you to think, feel and act the way you do today?   Alongside your history, what new ways of thinking will produce the change you want to see in yourself? You and Dr. Strachowski together will create a treatment plan that is individualized to meet your personal needs.

The course of your individual treatment will be unique and vary depending on your goals and presenting problems. Some problems are easier to treat with brief therapy while life-long patterns will require longer treatment plans. Clients who use CBT skills consistently generally start to see improvement in their mood by 8-9 sessions. Individual results may vary.
